THE FIRST STEP to start e-filing is to select your service provider. An electronic filing service provider (EFSP) provides an online service to help you file your documents, and acts as the intermediary between you and the eFileTexas.gov system. The service providers listed have all met the requirements for certification outlined by the Office of Court Administration. Additional providers will be added as they meet the certification requirements outlined by the Office of Court Administration. Each EFSP offers a variety of additional services and you should evaluate which provider meets your filing needs.

ProDoc has over 20 years’ experience serving Texas attorneys. Founded in 1991, ProDoc has been driven to save Texas attorneys time and money in their law practices. That same motivation led to the development of ProDoc eFiling. ProDoc has served as an e-filing service provider, (EFSP) since the introduction of e-filing in Texas courts in 2008. ProDoc has continued to develop its eFiling and eService applications to provide attorneys the best service possible. Today ProDoc serves as the EFSP in more transactions than any other provider. ProDoc leveraged their experience in the development of eFiling. The same programming team that has worked for years with ProDoc has developed the new ProDoc eFiling program that interacts with the State’s eFileTexas.gov system. While this program is still new, we already have numerous features, for example you can initiate the e-filing of a document created in ProDoc right from your ProDoc desktop. We will continue to develop many more features in response to customer needs. ProDoc has stored the detail of all of your e-filings from day one and has retained your date stamped documents for e-filings made within the last two years and will continue to do so. All of the filings are available in the new ProDoc eFiling 2 system. You will see a tab that reports your e-filings in the new system, ProDoc eFiling 2 and a separate tab that reports your e-filings in the former system, ProDoc eFiling 1. The eFilings under each tab can be filtered and sorted on a number of fields. These reports can be exported to assist in reconciling your credit card billings, client billing or any other use. You can select a filing on the listing to view its details including a link to the date stamped document. In e-filings made in ProDoc eFiling 2 you can also view the document you submitted prior to that document’s processing by the e-filing system. You can initiate a filing into any case listed on either tab by a single click on an icon beside the filing. ProDoc will continue to add more flexible reporting to assist you e-filing, billing and administration. ProDoc offers you the ability to designate Filer Delegates. In the eFileTexas.gov system a firm concept is used. Within the firm you have persons who may be filers and/or attorneys and/or service contacts. Any filer within a firm can eFile on behalf of any attorney in the firm. ProDoc allows attorneys to select which filers within the system can eFile on their behalf. We plan to expand this feature very soon to include designating filers to receive notifications from our system regarding e-filings when they are eFiled as well as when they are accepted or rejected by the court. ProDoc will automatically convert your word processor based documents to a machine readable pdf format as required by the e-filing system. ProDoc will have an interface in December 2013 to allow you to convert a regular pdf to a machine readable pdf. The interface will also allow you to combine your lead documents and supporting attachments into a single document and add your defined bookmarks. This type of format is currently a requirement in some courts and will likely become universally required January 1, 2014. ProDoc provides training and support to help you transition to the new system if you are already e-filing or if you are new to e-filing, how to register and e-file in the system. ProDoc provides live webinars to guide you through the e-filing system step by step. The webinars are conducted either by the ProDoc Manager or one of two experienced ProDoc attorney developers. Some webinars will qualify you for a one hour MCLE credit. We provide time at the end of the presentation for your questions. Separate webinars are presented for current ProDoc eFilers and attorneys and staff new to e-filing. |
